The action taken by a user to approve a document record maintained by AssetWise. Only documents identified as subject to Change Control can be approved. Document approval implies the locking of document metadata to change.

A parent document containing component documents in a Contained In relationship can only be approved when the component documents are also approved.

An approved document's metadata can only be changed through authorized configuration control procedures.
